Configuration is the first thing to set up under AI Chat. It says who the AI is. Every agent writes from it, so a fan reads one person whichever agent answers him. There is one configuration per creator: switch to the creator first. Configuration needs a paid plan. On Free the page shows every setting but locks them. The switch for AI Chat stays locked until the persona, her country, her state, province or city, and at least one time of her day are filled in. See how AI Chat works.

First time

A creator who has never saved a configuration is walked through it one step at a time, headed Set up your AI:
  1. Who is she? Her persona.
  2. How does she write? Her vibe and writing style.
  3. Where is she? Her language, country, city, timezone, sleep hours and chatter shifts.
  4. What does her day look like?
  5. When should your team step in? Optional. See hybrid mode.
  6. How should we tell you? Optional. See watching and steering.
  7. Keep the vault up to date (optional, and only when the plan scans the vault).
Next → is held until the required parts of a step are filled in, and the line beside it says what is missing. Save and finish on the last step saves everything and takes you to the Agents screen. Skip and show all settings drops the walkthrough and shows the whole page. After that, Configuration shows the sections as tabs: Persona, Vibe, Writing style, Context, Her day, Hybrid Mode, Alerts, Vault and Fine-tuning. Alerts and Vault only appear when they apply. Alerts saves on its own as you choose, not with Save. One Save at the bottom saves every tab. The line beside it reads Unsaved changes, All changes saved, or what is still missing to finish. ← Back and Next → walk the tabs. ↺ Reset configuration asks first (Reset configuration?), then clears the page back to the defaults and starts the walkthrough again. Your current settings stay live until you finish and save.
You can also ask the assistant to look at the agents’ settings for you.

Persona

Who she is, in her own words. Every reply the AI writes is written from this. Describe her name, age, town, job and interests. The AI only knows what you write here. Write it the way she would describe herself. The page counts the characters, and says when a persona is long enough to cost more on every reply. Leave out which language she writes in: Language, on the Context tab, decides that, and the agents follow it over the persona. You can still say how she writes in each language she uses. Use worked example replaces what is on the page with an example persona and example values for the other settings. Use it to start from, then change it to fit her.

Vibe

The overall personality she writes with. Pick one; it sets the tone, and Writing style fine-tunes it. Each card shows a line of how she would text.

Writing style

How the writing reads on top of the vibe. One row per dial. Hover a choice to see what it does and an example. Perfect spelling every time is one way fans spot a bot, so a slip here and there can help.

Context

The language she writes in, and where she is, so the conversation fits.
  • Language: Auto — match the fan by default, so she writes in whatever language he uses. Pick a language to always write in it.
  • Second language: shown once you pick a language. A second language she may switch to once the fan writes a full message in it. A greeting like “hi” never switches her. Auto — the fan’s language allows any language he writes in.
  • Country: required. What every agent says when a fan asks where she is from.
  • State, province or city: required. So she can talk about the weather, the time where she is and what is going on locally.
  • Timezone: her local time decides when she says good morning, and when she sleeps. Choose a whole-hour zone. A half-hour zone (such as (UTC+05:30) Mumbai, Delhi) cannot be saved: Save fails and nothing on the page is saved.
  • Sleep hours: when she is asleep, on her own clock, as two times: when she falls asleep and when she wakes (for example 23:30 to 08:00). No agent starts a chat or a sale during these hours, and fans who wrote overnight are answered after she wakes. Paid deliveries still go out. Leave both blank and she never sleeps.
  • Chatter shifts: the hours your team has her chats. See chatter shifts.

Chatter shifts

When a person on your team has her chats, on her own clock, every day. The box is on the Context tab, under Sleep hours.
  • Add a shift adds a row of two times: when the shift starts and when it ends (for example 09:00 to 17:00). Add another shift adds more, and Remove deletes one. A shift may run past midnight.
  • In a shift, AI Chat stays on, but no agent writes to a fan. Anything a fan paid for still goes out, and tips are still paid.
  • When a shift ends, the agents pick the chats back up. No agent tells a fan she was away.
  • With no shifts, the agents never stop for one.
A row that is not two different times is refused when you press Save: Write each chatter shift as two different times, like 09:00 to 17:00, or remove it. While a shift is on, the Agents screen reads Chatter shift until … beside the AI Chat switch, and the Dashboard’s By creator table shows Chatter shift. In her sleep hours they read Sleep time until … and Sleep time. See watching and steering.

Her day

What she is usually doing through the day, on her clock. One line for each part of the day: The agents are told what she is doing right now, and they only say she is doing what you wrote, so two of them never put her in two places at once. Leave a time blank and the agents keep it vague then. Fill in at least one time to switch AI Chat on.

Fine-tuning

Small touches most accounts never need. Safe to leave as they are.
  • No emojis: deletes every emoji before a message sends. Most accounts leave it off, because emojis make a reply look human.
  • Non-native English phrasing: makes the AI write in slightly broken English. Turn it on only if the creator really talks that way.
  • Favorite words and Forbidden words: comma separated. The AI works the first in when they fit, and is told never to use the second.
  • Double punctuation, Missing space after comma, Extra letters and Missing letter: which kinds of slip the Typos dial may make. With none ticked, all four are allowed. They do nothing while Typos is None.

Vault

When the plan scans the vault, the Vault tab sets Check for new uploads: Off, or how often OnlyStack scans the vault and describes anything new, so the Sales Agent knows what it can sell without you pressing Scan vault. With it Off, new uploads are only described when you press Describe on the Vault page. See the vault.

AI for new fans only

This switch is on the Hybrid Mode tab. When it is on, the agents only message fans who subscribe after you switched it on. Every fan from before is left completely alone for your team: no reply, no pitch, no win-back, no tip reward. Welcome new fans+ and your other automations are not affected, and neither is the Script Agent.
  • The date is kept when you first save with it on. Saving again does not move it, so older fans never become “new” by mistake.
  • Switching it off lets the agents talk to every fan again.
  • A fan counts as new only when OnlyStack can see he first subscribed after that date and nothing shows him on the account before it. A fan who lapsed before, then came back, counts as old. A fan OnlyStack knows nothing about yet waits, so it never risks messaging an old fan. A genuinely new fan can take a few minutes to be counted.
The line under the switch says which: The AI talks to every fan, old and new., or the date from which only newer fans are covered.
