# Install the desktop app

> Download OnlyStack for macOS or Windows and sign in.

Download the desktop app from [OnlyStack's desktop app page](https://onlystack.com/product/desktop-app). Use the download offered for your operating system.

    1. Choose the macOS download that matches your Mac. If separate options are shown, choose Apple Silicon for an Apple chip or Intel for an Intel Mac.
    2. Open the downloaded installer and follow its instructions.
    3. Open OnlyStack from your Applications folder.
    4. Sign in with your OnlyStack account.

    You can check your chip in **Apple menu → About This Mac**.

    1. Download the Windows installer.
    2. Open it and follow the installation prompts.
    3. Launch OnlyStack and sign in.

    If installation fails, keep the exact error message and contact support with your Windows version and the download you used.

## Keep the app current

Install updates offered by OnlyStack. If you need to reinstall, use the current download from the official desktop app page.

## After installation

If you manage the workspace, [connect a creator](/getting-started/connect-creator). If you joined a team, ask your manager to assign the creators you need, then [open Chats](/desktop-app/chats).
