# Background syncs

> The quiet reads that keep chats, purchases and subscribers up to date so automations and agents work from current facts.

Three background syncs keep a copy of the creator's recent OnlyFans data up to date. They have no screen of their own and nothing to set up. Their runs appear under **Debugging**, in the **Automation** tab, as **Sync conversations**, **Sync purchases** and **Sync subscribers**. They are read-only: they never message a fan and never change anything on OnlyFans.

Automations and agents work from that copy, not from OnlyFans each time, so rules that depend on who spoke last or how much a fan has spent are exact.

## What each one keeps up to date

| Sync | What it keeps current | Why it matters |

| Conversations | Who spoke last and when, message counters, and each chat's newest message. | **Follow up with quiet fans** needs it to know who has gone quiet. The rule that leaves a fan alone while he is mid-conversation reads it. The Learning Agent uses it to see which chats have something new to read. |
| Purchases | The creator's earnings, and each fan's lifetime spend. | Every rule that depends on spend: the minimum spend of **Follow up with quiet fans**, and the spend limits agents use to leave big spenders to your team. |
| Subscribers | Who is subscribed and who is new. | **Welcome new fans+** needs it to tell a new fan from a fan you already had. **AI for new fans only** needs it too. |

## When they run

A sync runs only while something that needs it is switched on for that creator.

Switching the last one off stops the sync that depended on it. You cannot switch a sync on or off yourself, and you do not need to.
