# Work with agents

> Understand agents, prepare creator context, and supervise conversations.

Agents handle conversations and decide how to respond using the creator context and configuration available to them. An automation performs the task you configured when its trigger runs. See [your first automation](/automations/first-automation) for that setup.

## Prepare a creator

Select the creator and open **Agents** in the desktop app. Review the setup shown for your account before enabling agents.

* Supply accurate creator information and conversation guidance.
* Review the content and selling settings available to your workspace.
* Make sure the creator is connected.
* Check your workspace's plan and AI credit balance.

## Supervise the work

Review conversations regularly. Keep creator information current, and coordinate with your team when a fan needs personal attention. Use the agent and conversation controls present in your app version to pause or change who is handling the work.

  Available agent settings and conversation controls depend on your plan and app version. If a required setup item or control is missing, ask your workspace owner or support before switching agents on.

## If an agent goes quiet

Check whether it is enabled, whether the creator needs reconnecting, and whether the workspace has AI credits. Read any status or error shown in the app before changing settings. If the reason is unclear, share the time and a redacted screenshot with [support](/troubleshooting/support).
